Ben installs commercial security fencing across the main systems — steel palisade for a hard, climb-resistant deterrent; welded mesh (including high-security 358 "prison mesh") for cut and climb resistance with through-visibility; and anti-climb detailing where the perimeter needs to defeat a determined attempt. The choice comes down to the site: a school, a depot, a substation and a sports facility each want a different balance of deterrence, visibility and cost.
Whatever the system, the security is in the spec and the groundwork: concreted post foundations, the right mesh or pale gauge, tamper-resistant fixings, the correct height, and gates and access points built to the same standard as the run. A perimeter is only as strong as its weakest point, which is usually a poorly hung gate or an under-set post — so those get the same attention as the fence line.
Ben prices security work from an on-site survey: the perimeter length, the threat level, the access points and any integration with CCTV or access control, set out clearly so you know exactly what protection you are buying. Larger commercial contracts are worth travelling for.
For the highest resistance to cutting and climbing, 358 welded "prison mesh" is hard to beat — the apertures are too small for fingers or tools and it gives no foothold. Palisade gives a heavier visual deterrent and is very hard to climb. The "most secure" choice depends on the specific threat, which is what the survey establishes.
Yes — the fence line, gates and access points are planned around any CCTV sightlines and access-control needs. Mesh, for instance, gives better camera through-visibility than palisade. Ben coordinates the perimeter so the physical and electronic security work together rather than against each other.
