Depots, plant yards, substations, waste and recycling sites, storage compounds: the priority is a hard, durable perimeter that resists climbing, cutting and vehicle impact, and keeps standing in a demanding environment.
The spec is set to the site and the risk — pale or mesh gauge, height, anti-climb detailing, tamper-resistant fixings, and gates rated for the vehicle traffic and the security level. Where there is impact risk from plant or vehicles, the post foundations and rail spec are uprated to suit. Nothing is over-spec for the sake of it, and nothing is under-spec where it matters.
It is robust, methodical work surveyed and priced from site, and the kind of larger contract worth travelling across South Wales, Bristol and the South West for.
Galvanised steel palisade and high-security welded mesh are the workhorses, on robust concreted-in posts. The choice and gauge are set to the risk — substations, depots and waste sites each have their own typical spec. Anti-climb detailing and rated gates are added where the security level needs them.
Where there is impact risk from plant or vehicles, the post foundations, gauge and rail spec are uprated to suit, and bollards or barriers can be coordinated at vulnerable points. Ben specs the perimeter to the actual risk on the survey rather than to a generic standard.
