Security gates in Bristol

The gate is the most-used and most-attacked part of any perimeter, so it has to match the fence for security and never let the boundary down. Bristol and the M4/M5 corridor are an easy run from Bridgend, and commercial perimeter jobs there are exactly the kind of larger contract worth travelling for.

Security gates done properly

Across Bristol, BP Contracting takes on security gates as commercial and perimeter contracts worth travelling for. Bristol and the M4/M5 corridor are an easy run from Bridgend, and commercial perimeter jobs there are exactly the kind of larger contract worth travelling for.

Bristol and the M4/M5 corridor are a straightforward run from Bridgend over the bridge, and the city and its trade parks carry exactly the kind of commercial perimeter work — depots, units, yards and sites — that justifies travelling for. For a larger contract the distance is no obstacle.

Ben fits security gates to match the perimeter system — palisade gates, welded mesh gates, pedestrian and vehicle, single swing, double-leaf and sliding (cantilever or tracked) for wide vehicle entrances. Whatever the type, it is hung on posts set deep and braced for the weight and the daily cycling, so it does not drop, drag or work loose at the one point an intruder will test first.

Vehicle gates can take manual or automated operation, with the access control — keypad, fob, intercom or barrier integration — planned in from the start so the gate, the automation and the security all work together. Sliding cantilever gates suit sites with no room for a swing arc or with uneven ground at the threshold.

A perimeter is only as strong as its gate, so the gate gets the same spec attention as the fence: the same height, the same anti-climb detailing where needed, and posts and latching built to commercial standard. Priced from the survey alongside the fence line.

Whether your security gates job in Bristol is a single boundary or a large run, the approach is the same: Ben surveys it, quotes a fixed itemised price, and builds it to a spec that lasts. Get in touch with the location and a rough idea of the job and he will tell you straight whether he can travel for it.

Good to know

Security gates questions, answered

Swing or sliding security gate?

Sliding (cantilever or tracked) gates suit wide vehicle entrances, sites with no room for a swing arc, and uneven thresholds. Swing gates are simpler and cheaper where there is room to swing. Ben advises on the survey based on the opening width, the space and how the gate will be used.

Can security gates be automated?

Yes — vehicle gates can run manual or automated, with access control (keypad, fob, intercom, ANPR or barrier integration) planned in from the start so the gate and the security system work together. Automation and the gate spec are coordinated rather than bolted on afterwards.

Why is the gate the weak point of a fence?

Because it moves, it is used constantly, and it is the obvious place to attack. A gate hung on under-set posts drops and drags, and a gate built to a lower spec than the fence undermines the whole perimeter. Ben builds the gate to the same security standard as the run, on posts set for the weight and the cycling.

Will you travel to Bristol for commercial fencing?

Yes — Bristol and the M4/M5 corridor are a straightforward run from Bridgend over the bridge, and larger commercial perimeter contracts there are well worth travelling for. Send Ben the site details and he will arrange a survey and quote to spec.
